Act II scene ii notes
- Mrs Johnson visits
- Scares Younger family by telling them about a family who was bombed out of white neighborhood
- She thinks it will be the same for the Younger family
- Mama is angry
- Walter's boss tells Ruth Walter has not been to work for 3 days
- Walter exclaims he's been drinking all night for the past 3 days
- Says he is depressed
- Mama feels guilty
- Gives Walter the rest of the money ($6500)
- Walter feels a lot better after getting the money
- Tells Travis about his future plans with the remaining money
- Totally ignoring Mama's suggestions
Act II scene iii notes
- Week later
- moving day
- Ruth wants to take a long bath in her own new bathroom
- Ruth is different in a good way

- Says he needs to talk to Younger family
- he says their presence would destroy the community
- All people living here are white and they are the only colored people
- They say they will offer more money than the house if they were to move
- Walter tells Lindner no
- Mama comes home and hears about all of it
- Supports decision
- Family surprises mama with gardening set
- Bobo comes to house and tells Walter that Willy ran off with all the money
- Mama beats Walter
- Mama is weak, all that money is now gone after all the labour
