Poem Short Analyses

The Red Wheelbarrow By William Carlos Williams Even though there are only eight lines in the whole poem, it still conveys a big message. The wheelbarrow in the poem is a symbol for many things that happen in our everyday lives. The wheelbarrow does not have that many actions and is not used for many things, but it is crucial for the farmer to do what he needs to do. The poem itself does not have that much else to it, only four stanzas, not much of a tone, no rhyme scheme, but it still has a message. Mother to Son By Langston Hughes The main message of this poem is to show how hard it is to be a mother. The verbs used are showing what a mother has to go through everyday. The staircase is a symbol to show how it's hard for the mother to walk up and down, or how to support her child with the obstacles that stand in her way. The G's are cut off from many words, there is no rhyme scheme, no stanzas, and the tone of the voice can be determined as more raised than the average...
